FEL (Forth Environment Link)

We were approached by Forth Environment Link to review its brand and its positioning within its operating landscape. Following a fascinating period of research and consultation with employees, partners and stakeholders, we identified a number of strategy shaping insights that informed the development of a new brand blueprint and messaging platform. One that was robust (built on truth), engaging (an interesting read) and inspiring (a new sense of purpose for employees).

Operating since 1998 and with a mix of agencies and delivery partners all operating in a noisy and complex landscape, it was vital that FEL rediscover a clear space to own and operate from and to articulate a purpose that would provide an unmistakable relevance to their audiences.

Our take-out from the process was overwhelmingly one that reflected an incredible drive, wisdom and passion to make positive impacts on communities and be an agent of change. But one that was equally met with frustration at not being heard and a lack of influence in a climate of rhetoric and hyperbole. This led to a simple but powerful mindset shift from ‘We just deliver the projects’ to ‘Changing our world. Project by project.’

We developed a full messaging platform to articulate compelling reasons why their various B2B and B2C audiences should engage and care. From there we provided them with a full visual update across all collateral starting with the evolution of their existing identity.

“Right from day one, it was clear the Brand Oath team had taken the time to understand our organisation, our needs and our ambitions. The brand audit process provided a platform for internal and external consultation, which returned some real insights to the FEL team in terms of recognising our organisation’s social value and impact.

“The whole exercise has really injected a confidence and future focus to our work, giving us another layer of pride in terms of what we do, how we do it and, crucially, how we are recognised within the sector locally, regionally and nationally. We couldn’t have asked for a better, more constructive and collaborative dynamic between contractor and client and we are beyond delighted with the end result”.
