The Daily Mile
A simple idea that sparked a global movement
In 2012, Scottish headteacher Elaine Wyllie MBE recognised that many of her pupils were struggling with their fitness. Concerned by the growing health challenges facing children and driven by a belief that more needed to be done, she took action.
Her solution was simple: encourage children to spend 15 minutes each day running around the school grounds. The impact was immediate and far-reaching, resulting in fitter, happier, healthier and more engaged children. From this straightforward idea, The Daily Mile was born and in 2016, INEOS recognised Elaine’s vision and commitment, becoming the organisation’s title sponsor.
Today, The Daily Mile serves a wide range of audiences including schools, partners, policymakers, and academic and research organisations, fulfilling many different roles and functions. It is embraced by more than 20,000 schools and nurseries worldwide, with over 5 million children benefiting from improved fitness, concentration and overall well-being.
This remarkable growth created a need to refine and simplify the brand, giving the organisation renewed momentum, greater clarity and a stronger platform for the future.
We never take for granted the trust people place in us to refine, develop and refresh brands that mean so much to them and the people they impact. Thank you to the team at The Daily Mile, for allowing us to be part of your journey. Here's to the next decade of changing children's lives for the better.
